Beauty Pageant yellow Dress Shocks people after watching see through dress.
Organisers of a beauty pageant have had to apologise after a woman on stage wore a yellow dress that unfortunately appeared to be see through under a light.
Pham Ngoc Phuong Anh 24, was presenting the first runner-up title to Trinh Thuy Linh for the Miss
Vietnam 2022 pageant on 23 December.
Phuong Anh, who previously landed the runner-up spot herself in 2020, appeared on stage wearing a sheer, embellished yellow gown.
Photos and footage from the event showed that, under the bright lights of the stage, her legs and hips appeared to be visible underneath the dress.
According to many social media users weren’t happy, with one Facebook user quoted as saying: “This outfit is not appropriate even for a beauty contest. It does not look good on television. She should be more careful the next time.”
However, some defended Phuong Anh, saying others were simply ‘overreacting’.
“She wore a bodysuit underneath, not underwear, and so I do not see anything inappropriate here,” one person wrote, adding: “People are overreacting. I think the organisers are to blame for this incident. They have a team for monitoring the outfits and still let this happen.”
Organisers have since apologised for the ‘unfortunate’ incident, saying in a statement: “It’s very unfortunate that an incident happened to the outfit of runner-up Pham Ngoc Phuong Anh.
“The dress when seen from certain angles, created an unflattering image on stage.”And the organisers of the 2022 Miss Vietnam apologise to the audience and fans for not having anticipated and being unable to prevent the incident beforehand.””And the organisers of the 2022 Miss Vietnam apologise to the audience and fans for not having anticipated and being unable to prevent the incident beforehand.”Pham Kim Dung, deputy head of the organising committee, claimed outfits worn on stage were normally carefully considered before the event. However, they did not realise the issue with Phuong Anh’s dress as not all lights had been on during the rehearsal.
She added that she hopes the public would put the incident behind them.
Media that Phuong Anh also said she feels ‘ashamed’ after seeing photos of her on stage, apologising to viewers and saying she has learned an important lesson.
